Hello and welcome to my corner of the internet! My name is Chery, and I'm delighted to have you here. I wear multiple hats in life: I am a devoted Christian, a homeschooling mom, a military spouse, a military mom, and a passionate content creator. I truly believe in the power of sharing experiences and knowledge to inspire and support others, which is why I have embarked on this journey of vlogging and blogging.
As a homeschool mom, my faith plays a central role in my life and parenting. It guides my values, decisions, and the education I provide to my children. I find immense joy in witnessing their growth and development, both academically and spiritually, within the nurturing environment of our homeschool. It's a privilege to be able to tailor their education to their unique needs and interests while instilling a solid foundation in Christian values.
Being a military spouse and a military mom has its own set of challenges and rewards. It requires flexibility, adaptability, and strength, as we navigate through frequent moves, deployments, and the uncertainties that come with military life.

Hi, my name is Heaven. I’m seven years old. I’m homeschooled in 3rd grade. I wanted to share with you how I learned to write cursive. It started when I was in kindergarten. I was not fully homeschool then. I had a name tag on my desk and my teacher wrote my name in cursive. I copied it and I went home. I had homework to do so I did my homework and wrote my name in cursive. My mom was next to me to help me do my work and to remind me to write my name. She was shock and happy when she saw me write cursive and said, “How?” My mom was proud of me. So she taught me how to write cursive the right way. I am getting better every day.
One day when I get older I can help kids learn how to write cursive. I’m very happy to share my story with you. See you next time!
So we are currently completing lessons about dinosaurs and the Bible. We are using schoolhouse teachers for our lessons. The children loves the videos provided for each lesson. As an adult I will say how informative each lessons are. A quiz is provided after every lesson. I provided a link below to check out schoolhouse teachers.
I wanted to do something fun with Heaven and Immense so I decided to have them make their own dinosaur fossils. It made sense since we are currently going over dinosaurs. The best part of this activity was watching them glow with excitement like always while shaping their Crayola air-dry clay. Not to much was needed for this activity.
Do you have an eclectic learner? Well I do. He is very active, bright and communicate like an adult if he needs to. He’s a handful and I wouldn’t want it any other way. He has ADHD and getting him to stay focus can be hard. The perfect time for him to learn isn’t a set time. He always calms down at night or after a super active play time. His learning style is different and I understand it more and more everyday. He is more of a hands on learner. He loves science, flipping around the house, chasing his older sister til she scream. Yeah he is a handful and his name is Immense. No really, his name is Immense. I love the energy he brings in our home. He loves looking through books and creating his own story.
Reading for him was tricky at first. I use McGuffey Reader to help along the way. Prior to McGuffey I created a list of word families and it helped tremendously. McGuffey teaching style is not far from mines. I purchased his books online from two different online store ( amazon and thriftbooks). You can get free downloads from the google books the google play-store or this link from gutenberg.org which is filled with tons of free ebooks.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
Romans 13:8:“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”
Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
1 Corinthians 16:14: “Do everything in love.”

An important lesson I teach my children is love. They know love has no face, price, color, size, and status. Love is for all color, size, disability, culture and for everyone under God. Love always win in any given situation. There’s no hurt in love. God said we must Love. Our children are watching us. If we display hate for one another’s color, culture, size, status then our children will continue what we have started which will be an on going dilemma.
Homeschooling is the time to allow our children to embrace everyone. It doesn’t matter what background they come from. As a Christian I don’t think that I am Superior to anyone because one thing I know for sure is that love can eliminate hate. I’ve never seen hate create love. I’ve seen hate create hatred, jealousy, killing, and judging without even knowing someone. It’s my duty to train my children in the direction that I want them to go and that direction is towards love.
Now, don’t get me wrong we can dislike someone’s character, attitude and action but let’s not hate them. let’s pray for them and hope they could become better. Help them if they need help because with love all is possible. We must show our children what acts of kindness are by displaying it with total strangers (poor, elder, emotional distress and more). Let us walk this world color blind and let love lead the way.
Every day isn’t created the same when homeschooling. Some days you will find yourself overwhelmed from the days before. You may have created a schedule your always readjusting, adding and removing lessons based on your children needs. It doesn’t mean your not teaching. Your just going with the flow. You know what works best for your family.
In my house I have a scientist, mathematician, dancer, artist, chef, athlete, stunt man and more. They are my children. They love to learn. The way they learn is different and I can adjust and readjust based on their needs. They have no limit. My daughter doesn’t have to wait to be in the six grade to show interest in six grade work. If she is interested in a new subject or harder work I can accommodate her without asking for permission. I don’t unschool my children but some days my children makes special requests.
Children are sponges and this is why everyday isn’t made equal in my household. They do learn everyday. Bible study is mandatory everyday in my home. Some days we may add an extra 30- 60 minutes to a subject that intrigues them. My son has ADHD and his learning style is completely different from my daughters. He gets more frequent breaks to burn energy. He usually love reading at night time. Sometimes he will beg me to keep learning and I keep teaching. Some days he want computer work. Everyday is different and the they do learn all required and needed subjects.
Sometimes I may school them 6 times a week. On holidays I may have my children complete math, reading and watch educational videos or documentaries. For instance, on President Day they watched videos about the presidents and my daughter read a book about the presidents.
Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. -Proverbs 22:6
Welcome to Last Minute Homeschooler. Homeschooling last minute wasn’t easy. My mind said one thing while my heart said something else. In the end I followed my heart. I made sure I knew my state law and I let God guide me. I didn’t worry about the negative view points I received or may receive from family, friends, associates or even strangers. I followed my heart aka my motherly instinct.
My children were home school from birth and they were always ahead. My daughter was remove from the public school system while in 2nd grade and my son was removed soon after during his first year of kindergarten. Did I get awkward stares? Yes, I did and I didn’t care. What I cared about was making the right decision for my family and being able to create a learning environment filled with Godliness, moral, truth, love, fun, patience and more. Now I am happy to say, today I am a home school mom and I love it.
